“Clock”
Time steps forward
Never backward
Relentless of pursuit
Of infinity
“Carried”
We all wander in darkness
Looking for any sign of light
Holding a lantern unseen
Showing us the way right
Away from the unknown
Still we suppose that we might
Never find light as we move
Through our own darkened night
Yet that lantern we hold
That forgotten bearer of light
We carry with us always
“If But We Wait”
We always seem to wait
For something to happen
Standing there with hands in pockets
Waiting for life’s handouts
When those are but pain and death
We must wrestle against it
If there’s to be a chance of joy
Still, maybe if we sit there
Miserable and afraid
To dirty our hands with the act of living
Expecting things to come by wish alone
We will only come to learn
Life does not give handouts
Except for misery and death
