Slipping By

a poem

Time moves along in a slow rhythm
As it sprints by me
Meandering and vanishing
Instant and eternity
Why can’t I master it
While it is here with me
Losing it instead
Gone and gone and gone forever
Offering me more
As I let it slip by again
