a poem
We seek to control others
To determine their thoughts
Their wants
Desires
And what they should do
As though we were gods
Meddling in mortal affairs
Forgetting ourselves
We are but the mortals
Floundering without control
Knowing nothing
Of ourselves
Thinking to control others
When we cannot control the self
Yet do we know even
Who we are
But… by all means
We think to ourselves
To control all else but ourselves
