a poem
Still air surrounds the morning
As the smell of coffee greets me
Watching dark clouds near
A strange twilight of early morning
Welcoming storms and rain
Mother Nature playing her part
I watch it here, patient
They do little to stop life
Much less even give it pause
Too many distractions
Who can even see the oddness
The way the early sun rises
Against dark clouds
Illuminating this tree
As others remain in shadow
Temporary breaks in the clouds
Maybe someone might say
How gloomy today feels
As I remain excited for rain and storm
Nature has its best shows
If one can stand to notice
The small red bird pick at flowers
To the grander displays of lightning
Each magnificent and enthralling
When the pixelated veil drops
Sitting here I continue to watch
Waiting now for life to call
Those things of modern need
I scarcely can call life
Absorbing my attention once more
