Tarmac

a poem

The air is cool enough
Sitting still on the tarmac
Waiting for the sun to warm
Or a gate to become ours
Welcome to traveling
Minor inconveniences
Incredible marvels
Covering miraculous distance
In so little time
How comfortable I’ve gotten
To forget this is new
For the human experience
Is it better for us?
I continue to wonder
As we finally begin to move
