a poem
Something told me to go outside
As I let fur and tooth explore
A chance to bathe in morning Sun
Or whatever the reason
Choice against the norm is all it was
Unexplainable where these ideas come
To do what isn’t done usually
Calls beckoned me thus unknowing
Of strange threads connecting
Why did I choose to go outside?
Stillness before distressed cries
Understanding then that maybe
Maybe I was meant to be there
To protect prey from needless predator
To protect life from needless death
Perhaps I simply answered a call
Of knowing beyond knowing
Disguised as a silly choice
To break from habit and save life
