a poem

Good is not light
Evil is not dark
Though we use these words
Like synonyms
Believing in their likeness
In their meanings
But good is what guides
On the path of purpose
The path of meaning
Evil is what leads astray
A light can lead to evil
As a shadow can good
Know this to understand
How we can fall so far
Thinking we’re in the light
Thinking wrongly
That we are in the good
