A Knock at the Door

a poem

Temptation knocks at the door
Begging me to open
To let her in
As I refuse
Cowering in the corner
Not of who stands on the other side
But of the monster
Who would but open
And relish in the submission
To the things
Which would destroy what
I hold most dear
