We live in a very narrow field. Our planet in on a narrow band within a star system. Our bodies must maintain a very narrow temperature range with our own body only able to manage a slightly less narrow range without the aid of our inventions.
What we see falls in a narrow band of light. What we hear is a narrow range of sound. We enjoy a narrow range of flavor, and we feel a narrow range of touch.
Our focus is narrow, where we are best when it is only on one thing.
Our lives are narrow.
And yet we believe that we can understand the breadth of the universe. Our understanding often comes from a sliver of knowledge. Each of us only has a piece, a sliver, a fraction. A narrow band of existence. We’re only pieces of a larger puzzle.
Searching for the place we belong.
