It’s getting very hard to care about Barnes & Noble failing.
I love books. As a reader and a writer. So in general I don’t want to see anything supporting that to fail. But much as with a lot of the way publishers treat writers, Barnes & Noble is treating everyone poorly, except their executives.
In the end, the top execs and investors will come out ahead or break even. Everyone else will lose out. They’ve become a glaring example of what greed is doing to us all.
I feel terrible for all of the employees on the ground and those who were just shoved out the door.
When a company is so blatantly mismanaged, those who have mismanaged it should pay the price, not the employees at the store level.
No wonder Amazon is kicking their ass.
