Avengers: Endgame

This is quick, spoiler-free review of the newly released superhero movie, Avengers: Endgame.

Yesterday afternoon, I took my son out to see the movie. For the both of us, it was highly anticipated. Since seeing Thor: Ragnarök and Captain Marvel, he’s been especially excited to see the latest installment of the Marvel/Avengers saga, as have I. And although I’ve not followed the comic-book, superhero world as closely as when I was younger and obsessed with the X-men, I’ve been quite pleased with the care that Marvel has taken with the whole of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).

Now, as much as I love the MCU, there has been a couple of the Marvel movies that have been lackluster. I must say, Avengers: Endgame is not one of them.

Clocking in at 3 hours and 1 minute long, it is a slog. I had to pee really bad at about the 1 hour mark, and I refused to go. I survived. Needless to say (although I will say it), it was worth not leaving the theater for even a brief moment.

In a scale of 5 (given I have no official rating system), I would rate this as a 4 out of 5. It was a well-done movie, not completely perfect, but well-done. I am now looking forward to the next phase of what Marvel has planned.
