Carried – a poem

“Carried”
a poem by Jeremy C Kester

We all wander in darkness
Looking for any sign of light
Holding a lantern unseen
Showing us the way right
Away from the unknown
Still we suppose that we might
Never find light as we move
Through our own darkened night
Yet that lantern we hold
That forgotten bearer of light
We carry with us always
