Avoiding Notice – a poem

“Avoiding Notice”
a poem by Jeremy C Kester

Do you think we ever stop to notice
The world and all that is around us
Leaves that flutter in the wind from a tree afar
To the insect crawling under our feet
The partner crying beside us as we walk
Or the joy on the child’s face
As we strain to pass one moment to the next
Avoiding life as it has been made by us
