Curves of Glass – a poem

“Curves of Glass”
a poem by Jeremy C Kester

An experiment with this bourbon
weight in my hand
curves of a glass against my palm
with clinking of ice
to chill the fire
intended to burn down my throat
to char my inhibitions
burning them away
as if they were a taste
like bourbon
and could burn me up
but yet the ice still shifts
as I swirl this glass
awaiting my next sip
