“Eyes Blind”
a poem by Jeremy C Kester

I sift through the ashes of my life
and find my life a shamble of dreams
forgetting why
I forget how.

Driving swords into eyes blind
I cannot see the path I took
and how it made me into me
why I took that path at all.

I try and gaze through the mirror
pondering the mask I wear
what exists beneath myself?
what am I to see?
