Bird Calls – a poem

“Bird Calls”
a poem by Jeremy C Kester

There is focus
Word in front to be
digestible — to consume
in me
Yet the bird calls
Distraction there
Yet sentences call
forth and in front of eyes
not to fall
And yet the Sun beckons
Focus must
be had and torture few
Desires knock against
the well worn pew
To kneel at the chaos call
And steady my gaze
To word’s amaze
