Bourbon – a poem

“Bourbon”
a poem by Jeremy C Kester

My fingers touch around glass
Weighted with my emotions
Chilled on bourbon and ice
Trying to dull my sense here
Where I need to forget it all
Where escape seems the right
But I sip still my quiver
And inhale the intoxication
